Access Our Services

To access our settlement and integration services, we recommend you make an appointment. After a friendly first meeting with one of our Settlement Advisors, we will help you determine what you need and how to get it.

During the first meeting, we will assess your needs for the following:

  • Housing
  • Language
  • Education
  • Finances
  • Health
  • Community connections, cultural organizations
  • Process to apply for citizenship
  • Life in Canada and the NWT
  • Employment

If you have employment needs, we refer you to our partners at Conseil de développement économique des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (CDÉTNO). Click here to learn more about what they offer.

Then, we will build a settlement plan and refer you to services within the Intercultural Centre NWT or in the community.

To make an appointment for a first meeting, call 1-867-680-0610 or email emplois@cdetno.com. You may also walk in at anytime during our hours of operations from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. We are located at in the Diamond Plaza Building, Suite 101, 5204 Franklin Avenue in Yellowknife.

We also offer one-on-one and group / family sessions on various topics related to your settlement and integration. These include education, housing, health, community and cultural organizations, as well as life in Canada and the NWT.

Under certain conditions, we offer interpretation, translation, and transportation services.

You are eligible for these services if you are:

  • A Permanent Resident or are the process of becoming one
  • A Refugee or Protected Person
  • An International Student with a work permit
  • A Temporary Foreign Worker
